MAMA reaches PNG!

On Friday 26 April, the CEO of MAMA, Mark Fraser, and General Manager, Paul Singer, joined the Patron of MAMA, the Governor-General of Australia, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce, at a special ceremony in Port Moresby to announce an exciting new partnership with Buk bilong Pikinini.

Arriving at Buk bilong PikininiThe partnership will fund Papua New Guinea’s first mobile library, providing children in remote areas with access to much needed books and educational resources. The mobile library will enable Buk bilong Pikinini to further work on its outreach to provide vulnerable children in Papua New Guinea with educational opportunities and high quality liteacy materials. MAMA and Buk bilong Pikinini will be aiming to reach children in villages between the provincial capitals of Lae and Goroka and will enable the program to reach thousands of vulnerable children.

Every child has the right to an education, the right to access books – books that provide a window to a lifetime of opportunities. We’re thrilled to partner with Buk bilong Pikinini to empower the young vulnerable children in some of the remotest villages of PNG.
